In October of 2020 I was driving the back roads from Muskogee to Stillwater when I spotted this pink form of the white panicled aster near the town of Slick. It stood out as the only variation in a grand sea of white, even at 55 mph. This easy to grow native butterfly magnet is a great addition to any butterfly garden, natural area, xeriscape or perennial border. We will try crossing it with Mary Nell Aster which is the same species in a peachy color. Maybe we’ll get some interesting new colors.
