Pennisetum setaceum ‘Rubrum’

The flowering stems of this maroon bladed grass arch over with their giant wooly caterpillar-like plumes giving a nice fountain-like effect. I’ve been using Purple Fountain Grass in garden designs since the mid 1980’s and never been disappointed. This showy grass is easy to grow, deer resistant, heat tolerant and makes an awesome specimen plant in beds and borders. It is also an excellent thriller for larger mixed containers.
