Seldom seen in gardens is this native perennial in the carrot family. Rattlesnake Master is a most interesting plant with unique white summer flower heads that are round and about the size of cherry tomatoes. It has strap-like leaves that resemble those of a yucca. This plant gets its name from former use by Native Americans to treat rattlesnake bites. Be sure to plant Rattlesnake Master in an infertile soil with low moisture otherwise it may need to be staked.
