There’s no bruising associated with this plant, unless of course, you are startled by its beauty and take a tumble. The cobalt corollas paired with the dark calyces of Black & Blue Salvia make for a very interesting and attractive mix of colors. A native of Brazil and Argentina, this plant is perennial in most of Oklahoma but may occasionally succumb to a really cold and wet winter. It can spread a bit if in ideal location, though this seems to be more prevalent in far south coastal areas. We love the tall stems and gorgeous blooms of this perennial and so do the hummingbirds.
