Raydon?s Favorite is a durable selection of one of our native Aster species grown for its gorgeous medium blue to purple fall daisies. This butterfly magnet has an attractive mounding habit that is more dense than the species and its flowers are darker. It gets its name from Raydon Alexander of San Antonio, TX who collected it near Lookout Mountain, TN. After growing it for several years in his Texas garden, Raydon shared it with Allen Bush who first offered it at his Holbook Farm Nursery in Fletcher, NC. We?re glad this excellent plant has made its way into gardens everywhere.
