I’ve always admired Heath Asters for their copious amounts of fall butterfly-attracting blooms. Snow Flurry is an exciting selection that rarely gets over 6” in height. Because the stems are so dwarfed and congested, the flowers are packed tighter together, truly giving a snow-like display. Easy to grow, drought tolerant and able to handle many soil types, Snow Flurry is a selection of one of our native Aster species. It forms a dense mat making it a great choice for rock gardens or front of the border plantings. Snow Flurry is an older cultivar of unknown origin. It was obtained by English gardener Beth Chatto from the US around 1983 but it is unknown where it came from.
