Yucca filamentosa ‘Color Guard’

Adding spiky-leaved plants to your garden is a good way to provide immediate contrast. An excellent choice for this type of plant is one of my favorite Yuccas, Color Guard. Its striped green and gold leaves make a bold statement. It will flower after growing for a year or two, with a scape that emerges a reddish-orange color then forms buds that open into a huge inflorescence of gleaming white.
